Do This To Eliminate Suffering
I want to share with you a set of simple questions that you can use to reframe any situation in your life that might be causing you suffering.
Suffering results when we believe the limiting thoughts and stories created by our mind about something that's happening in our reality.
Those stories, especially if we're in fight or flight mode (in a stress response), are stories that generally don't serve us as they are related to judgment, fear, and criticism (aka the inner critic).
If we can notice this happening in our awareness, in our mind, we have the power to not give our energy to those stories.
Here’s a simple tool you can use to reframe those stories.
When you encounter a challenging situation in your life and experience suffering from limiting mental stories, ask yourself:

What am I making this situation mean?

What do I want to make this situation mean?

What do I want to believe about this situation?
When you ask these questions, you're choosing to see if there is an alternative way of perceiving the situation besides the default stories that your mind typically makes up.
It's never the facts about what's happened that causes us suffering, but our stories and thoughts about the facts that creates suffering. LET THIS LAND.
Our power lies in knowing we get to choose the meaning we assign to any and all situations in life.
So, I encourage you to pay attention as you go about your day and see if you can find an opportunity to watch the stories that your mind creates by default, then ask yourself what YOU want to believe and make the situation mean.
